Goings on in the Gord

The problem with writing a blog is that the more you put it off, the harder it is to get back at it.  It's been several MONTHS since my last post, and despite having a four day weekend, it has taken me all four days to work up the initiative to get to it.

Honestly, I don't feel I have that much to write about?? I wake up, go to work, work-out at lunch, come home from work and work-out again, watch some tv, and go to bed.  Throw in massive quantities of food during the day. Repeat. While I find this extremely fulfilling (except for the whole work thing), I can't imagine someone else being interested. My wife does an excellent job of blogging regularly, and I feel keeps everybody up to speed on life out here in the desert.

Having said that, there are several things happening in the next few months that I'm definitely looking forward to!

First up, VACATION.  Or perhaps I should say, vacation times TWO!  Our first vacation takes place in just over two weeks, and is basically a week long tour of the California coast along the PCH...on our BIKES!  To help us along on our journey we purchased a helpful little book for just such an occasion:

I haven't actually read any of it yet; but I've got two whole weeks to work on it, right?

Then we come home to play host to Charlie, who's going to be in town for a few days visiting.  He's really here to go to a friend's wedding, but we don't care about that; we're just glad to have visitors :-)

Hopefully, there will be lots of this while he's in town:

Joy and I are doing the rain dance daily; the national parks won't reopen until rainy season starts and the fire danger goes WAY down.

After Charlie's visit, we'll spend the month of July getting ready for vacation number two:  Two weeks in ITALY!  O yeah, and maybe Monaco and southern France :-)  Guess I better get to work on my Italian...
